  • There will be a Winter Storm moving across northern Missouri tonight (Wednesday) into early Friday morning.
  • The largest amounts of snow will fall across western and northwest Missouri starting tonight and continuing until early Friday morning. It’s conceivable that there may be periods of moderate to heavy snowfall.
  • Residents’ Thursday morning commutes may be affected by the storm’s path. In the event of a significant snowfall, vehicles should plan ahead and use extra caution.
  • Two warnings have been issued for this system by the Pleasant Hill office of the National Weather Service. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued and will take effect at 9 p.m. Wednesday and last until 6 a.m. on Friday, March 11, for residents of Iowa and Missouri counties. Areas under a Winter Weather Advisory should expect 3 to 5 inches of snow.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued and will go into effect at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9th, and will remain in force until 6 a.m. on Friday, March 11th, for people in counties where the National Weather Service expects there will be stronger bands of snowfall. Areas under a Winter Storm Warning may expect 5 to 7 inches of snow.
