India reported 13,154 new Covid cases today. There is a 43% rise in the total number of cases from the previous day. The fresh cases reported on Tuesday were 9,155 and that on Monday was 6,242.In two days, the cases have seen a massive spike. This sharp rise is even faster than what was seen during the second wave.
The active case load in India stands at 82,402 cases and 268 deaths in the past 24 hours. The Omicron tally has risen to 961. The daily active cases shot up by 5400. The Covid cases mark crossed 10,000 after a gap of 34 days.
Delhi has approximately 263 Omicron cases; the capital has crossed Maharashtra where the total tally is 252. 320 Patients with Omicron have been discharged.
Covid cases are rising in various states. Maharashtra has reported a spurt with 3900 cases reported in a single day. This has been the highest number since 9th May. New Delhi saw a spike too. The total cases reported in a day were 923. This is the highest number since 30th May. The positivity rate has crossed 1%. Gujarat also crossed more than 500 infections.
WHO has mentioned that the number of Covid 19 cases across the world have risen by 11% than the last week.
