About 10% of the 60% of the children surveyed have gained weight. This survey was conducted over 1309 children from 1 October 2021 to 31 October 2021 during the recent Covid crisis.

Dr SudhirKalhan, chairman of the Institute of Minimal Access, Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, says that the results of this survey are shocking. 36.8% of the people surveyed mentioned sedentary lifestyle ie sitting in one place as the main reason for weight gain. Whereas 27.55% of people cited sleeping late as the main reason and 22.4% of people said that overeating was the reason for weight gain. Let us tell you that diseases like corona epidemic and black fungus have given rise to different types of diseases in people like diabetes, increase in problems like breathing problem.

The survey believes that the care of children has been neglected in this epidemic. Due to Corona, children could neither go to school nor were able to do any physical activity at home. Along with this, there were also problems like deaths and worsening of sleep cycles around them. It has a direct impact on physical, behavioral and lifestyle related. This problem needs immediate attention and work on it.
