Delhi has been engulfed in severe air pollution and the government had decided to shit the schools for offline mode from 13th November till 20th November. In a new notice by Directorate of education it has been mentioned that “All the Govt., Govt. Aided, Unaided recognised, NDMC, MCDs and Delhi Cantonment Board schools will remain shut till further orders. However, online teaching learning activities and the examinations for Board classes would be conducted”.
“The environment department has directed to close all the schools with immediate effect till further orders of the Commission for Air quality Management in NCR and adjoining areas. Therefore all the government and private schools will remain closed till further orders”
The air quality in Delhi has come down from severe to “very poor”. This has remained very poor for eight consecutive days now. On Sunday morning the AQI was 382. The experts believe that it would improve due to strong surface winds. The Ministry of Earth Sciences ‘Air quality monitor SAFAR said that the air quality may improve from 21st November -23rd November.
The air quality remained poor in the adjoining areas as well.
