Supreme Court of India has finally approved the new counselling scheme proposed by the MCC. The counselling for NEET UG and PG courses would start from 2021 for All India Quota (AIQ) medical seats.
The list of changes done is:
- The counselling would be held in four rounds. This is applicable for 50% PG seats and 15% UG seats that are in the Central pool. The four rounds being AIQ 1, AIQ 2. AIQ 3 and AIQ Stray vacancy round
- The fresh registrations would be done in the first three rounds. Earlier the seats that were reverted back to states after round 2 of the counselling will now be filled in the stray vacancy round.
- No fresh registrations in the stray vacancy rounds.
- If anybody wants to upgrade or have a free exit, this would be available only in the first round. No up gradation allowed in second or third round.
- The candidates who joined the seats they have been allotted in round 2 or round 3 would not be allowed to resign from the seats. They cannot participate in any further counselling.
- If the candidates no don’t take admission in the second round can apply in the stray or the mop-up round only if they forfeit the security deposit and register again.
