Just a few days after the Bhind police in Madhya Pradesh booked a complaint against the Amazon executives for selling marijuana online, yet another complaint has been lodged to district collector, Indore by a man who said that his son died after consuming a poisonous substance he ordered from the online portal.
Aditya, son of Ranjit Verma committed suicide On 29th July 2021. After investigations it was found that the poisonous substance was ordered online from the Ecommerce platform Amazon. Aditya Verma consumed poison on 29th July 2021 and he was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead the next day. The poison was ordered from Amazon.
The district collector of Indore, Mr. Manish Singh confirmed that he has received a complaint and he assured that if anyone from the Amazon portal is found guilty, he would be booked under National Security Act. People have protested against the online sale of Marijuana, liquor and poison on Amazon, demanding a ban on such online portals.
People have collectively asked the authorities to intervene and regulate the sale of prohibited substances .
