The government of India has announced its decision about the issuance of tourist visas to international travellers from 15th October, 2021. After more than a year of restrictions on travel, India is getting ready to welcome the foreign tourist. This decision has been taken to boost the tourism industry in India.
India had suspended all the visas in March 2020. The business, student visas resumed this year, there was still restrictions on tourist’s visas.
India would begin granting fresh tourist visas to foreigners travelling to India through chartered flights while those travelling by non chartered flights may enter after 15th November.
What would be required by those travelling to India?
- Travellers must have a COVID negative report upon arrival, regardless of their vaccination status. The test should not be taken within 72 hours of travel. This can be uploaded to Air Suvidha Portal .
- The travellers also need to submit a self declaration form through the same portal.
Meanwhile India is reporting around 20,000 fresh cases everyday and the country has administered 95crores Covid vaccine doses. The Centre for Disease control and Prevention has termed that India has “Moderate level of COVID 19 ”and has suggested that travel should get fully vaccinated before travelling.
