Union Ministry of Health and family welfare issues new guidelines for international travellers arriving in India, effective from 1st December.
As per the new guidelines:
- All the travellers are required to submit their 14 days travel details on Air Suvidha Portal.
- They would have to upload a negative RT-PCR report of the test conducted within 72 hours of travel.
- Passengers travelling or transiting from the risk nations would have to undergo RT-PCR test on arrival in India and would have to wait for the test report before leaving the airport or taking a connecting flight.
- If they test negative, then they would be under home quarantine for 7 days, a retest would be done on the 8th day and if negative, they would have to self monitor for 7 more days.
- If tested positive, the samples would be further sent for genomic testing at INSACOG laboratory network. They would be sent to an isolation facility as per the guidelines. The contacts of these patients would be under home or institutional quarantine.
- These protocols are to be followed at all the points of entry of the borders. This applies to Land and sea routes as well.
The “Risk Nations” include countries in Europe including United Kingdom , South Africa, Bostwana , Bangladesh , Brazil, Mauritius, New Zealand , Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong and Israel.
