Four more international passengers have tested positive at Delhi airport

After the 4 passengers who travelled from London and Amsterdam to Delhi during early hours of Wednesday tested positive, 4 more passengers tested positive on Thursday.

3 out of 243 people tested positive on Air France and one tested positive on a flight from London.

The samples of all the positive people have been sent to National Centre for genome sequencing for Disease control for genome sequencing. This is done to check for the presence of the new variant Omicron.

All those who tested positive have been admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital where a dedicated Covid ward has been set up for isolation of these patients.

The “Risk countries “is UK, European Nations, South Africa, Botswana, China, Mauritius, Singapore, New Zealand , Zimbabwe, Hong Kong and Israel.

According to WHO, 23 Nations have reported the presence of the new strain. India has made the travel guidelines strict after the recent discoveries. RT-PCR is mandatory for all the passengers arriving from the risk nations. 5 % random passengers arriving from other countries would be tested too.
