Canada has the world’s first “climate change” patient

A doctor in British Columbia province has diagnosed a patient suffering from “Climate change” .The patient aged 70 years complained of breathing issues due to the bad air quality and heat waves. The consulting doctor mentioned that the patient had already been suffering from diabetes and heart failure. She lives in a trailer with no air conditioning and her health worsened after the country was stuck was massive heat wave this summer.

A lot of people had died to the heat wave that broke all the previous records. Dr Kyle Merritt , treating the patient chose to make this unusual diagnosis to bring to notice the underlying cause that aggravated the medical condition of the patient. The patient is struggling to stay hydrated. The doctor also put a collective name “Doctors and Nurses for Planetary Health” to establish a link between patients’ health and climate change.

The heat waves had stuck Canada and parts of US. More than 200 people died in British Columbia. The possible cause of the heat wave is suspected to be climate change. Besides the heat wave, the raging forest fires contaminate the air with PM2.5 particulate matter.
