After the announcement by the Prime Minister, the Centre has released official guidelines regarding vaccination for 15-18 years old and the precautionary dose.
Registration for the vaccine
The eligible people can register for the vaccination from their existing COWIN account. The system would alert the beneficiaries itself once they become eligible for the vaccine. The eligibility criteria is 9months after the second dose.
The children would have to register themselves on the COWIN portal .The registration would be open from 1st January. For students who do not have an Aadhar Card, they can submit their 10th ID card for registration.
Precautionary Dose
This drive would start from 10th January 2022. Healthcare and frontline workers, seniors above 60 years with comorbidities can register themselves for their dosage.
Those above 60, have to take the dose after a doctor’s advice.
The specified gap between the second dose and the precautionary dose would be 9 months.
The third dose would be same as the second dose. As of now, any guideline about mixing of the vaccines has not been released by the government.
Vaccines for 15-18 years old
The vaccination program would start from 3rd January 2022.
