A grant of ₹8453.92 crores has been released by the centre to 19 states to enhance the health system

The centre has granted ₹8453.92 crores to strengthen the health care system of both rural and urban bodies .The grant was by department of expenditure as a per recommendation of Fifteenth Finance Commission.

Union Ministry of Finance quoted that this was done to “strengthen the health systems and plug critical gaps in the health care system” at primary health care system. The 19 states are

The centre plans to give grants to the rest of the states after the states send their proposals to Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Finance Ministry quoted that ₹2095 crores has been granted
