Diwali is one of the most celebrated festivals across the country. This is a festival of lights, sweets and spreading happiness. But often we overindulge and that costs us our health. So here area few tips to stay healthy this Diwali.
Get adequate sleep
You must be busy with Diwali parties but make sure you make up for the lost sleep and keep your system in perfect balance.
Exercise
We know this would not be a possibility but whatever little time that you get, make sure you take that walk or do your yoga routine. This would definitely keep your body in shape.
Eat healthy
Switch to healthy snacking. Include nuts and fibre in your diet. Switch to homemade drinks that would keep the sugar levels controlled in the body. You can make healthy snacks at home with ingredients like fox nuts, chiaseeds, nuts etc. You can also experiment with various salads and welcome your guests with healthy food.
Hydrate yourself well
Make sure you drink adequate amount of water. This would keep you hydrated and help you flush out toxins from the body.
Alcohol Moderation
Alcohol stimulates appetite. You end up eating more and this gets stored in your body as fat. Limit your alcohol intake. Have dry wines instead of sweetened wines.
Restrict caffeine
Tea, coffee and other caffeinated drinks dehydrate you and also disturb the sleeping patterns. So limit these as well.
Have everything in moderation and stay healthy during these festivities. Have a happy and safe Diwali.
