Russian President Vladimir Putin himself has gone into self-isolation because of coming in close contact with close officials being infected with the corona virus. This has been reported by the President’s Office ‘Kremlin’ on Tuesday. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin has gone through covid-19 tested but the infection was not confirmed. Putin has completed both doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik-V in April (second dose). The spokesman said that the President is completely healthy but will remain in isolation due to coming in contact with the infected.
The spokesman did not confirmed how long Putin would be in isolation but said he would continue his work. He did not disclosed to whom Putin came into contact with. Earlier, the Kremlin reported that there was a phone conversation between Putin and Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahman. The President of Russia attended several events on Monday. He met Russian Paralympic players and in between the meeting said “soon he nay have to go into isolation”. He was engaged in a coordinated military operation with Belarus and met Syrian President Bashar Assad.
It was asked by the spokesman why he attended several events on Monday when the president was aware that there had been cases of Covid-19 in his close circle, said that “after the doctor’s opinion, the president decided to go into isolation.” The decision was taken and no one was exposed to corona virus by the programs on Monday.”
Talking about the number of cases so far 71 lakh cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Russia and 1,94,249 people have died. In the recent week, there have been between 17,000-18,000 cases per month and 800 people have died in a day. There is currently no restriction in relation to Covid-19 in Russia.
