As we all know in this pandemic it is very important to maintain social distancing and follow the guidelines given by government and along with that we need to take proper intake of meals to maintain our immune system and health for preventing the virus to attack on our body. In Ayurveda, food is considered the main element of health. A good Ayurvedic diet is considered to be that which is based on the nature of the person’s body. Such food not only nourishes, but also keeps diseases away. Fresh fruits, vegetables, dry fruits and liquids should be included in Ayurvedic diet. In this, certain foods are included according to the doshas of the person. This maintains the energy levels in the body.
⚫ Principles of ayurvedic diet:-
According to the classification of Ayurveda, the body’s metabolism is controlled by three doshas. These doshas are called Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Any dosha can be made up of any two of the five elements. It is necessary to maintain the proper level of these doshas only through diet.
Six types of juices should be included in the food, six juices or flavors in the food of Ayurvedic diet must be included. For example, Madhur (sweet), Lavana (salty), Amla (sour), pungent, Katu (bitter) and Tita. Each taste has a different effect on different doshas. People of Vata nature should take sweet, sour and salty food. People of Kapha prakriti should take bitter, pungent and pungent food, people of pitta prakriti should eat sweet, pungent and pungent food, but it cannot be considered as a general formula.
▪️Follow a sattvic diet:-
Sattvik diet is the purest of all diets. Helps in nourishing the body. Sattvik food is easily digested. These are the body’s immunity, which are fresh and almost in their natural form. Sattvic food includes whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, pure fruit juices, cow’s milk, ghee, legumes, nuts, sprouted grains, honey and herbal tea. It strengthens the body by increasing the capacity.
▪️Rajasic diet:-
In this type of diet proteins and other essential elements are obtained from animals. Spices are used more in this. Rajasik food is fresh, but difficult to digest. People who do excessive physical work, they should eat this type of food.
▪️Tamasic diet:-
It consists of fermented and refined food, which is deep fry and spicy. Most of the tamasic diets are made of flour and they also have high salt content. The people who consume this diet grows laziness among those
and the disease makes them easily prey.
⚫ Ayurvedic diet plans:-
1) Include organic foods in your diet, as they are pure and energy-saving and are plentiful. 2) Vegetables in less oil and spices.Fry lightly while stirring continuously.
3) Must eat seasonal fruits per day, but keep in mind that it is fresh. Eat whole instead of cutting them.
4) Eat milk, buttermilk, curd, homemade paneer too.
5) Be sure to consume nutritious seeds such as flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, sesamum seeds and their oil.
6) Consume pulses, soybeans and whole sprouted grains.
7) Instead of white sugar, include pure honey and jaggery in the diet.
8) Eat bran flour and porridge instead of maida. 9) Don’t overcook the food. It should neither be cooked nor under cooked. overcooked and undercooked.
10) Don’t even eat ripe fruits.Never eat stale food.
