Healthy snacks for your children

The kids are home since the lockdown .Many parents compliant about unhealthy snacking by children. As parents we often think how can we replace this with something healthy and give them what all they need.  Here are a few quick and healthy snack options that your kids are going to love.

  • Cottage cheese

It is a high source of protein. You can grease it with a little butter and heat it up on your non stick pan. This is a yummy and filling snack for the children

  • Nuts

You can keep a box of nuts for your children and they can munch whenever they feel hungry. They are a good source of fibre and proteins.

  • Fox nuts or lotus seeds

They are low in calories and high in protein. They can keep you full for a longer period of time. With no or negligible amount of saturated fats, they are super healthy foods. They can be roasted with a bit of clarified butter and they are a perfect snack.

  • Popcorns

These are easy to cook and taste great too. You can different flavours like caramel, butter etc .

  • Yoghurt

If your child does not like plain yoghurt, you can make some fruit flavoured yoghurts at home. They are a good source of calcium and proteins.

  • Dried cereals and berries

They can be eaten alone or with milk.

  • Baked or boiled potatoes :

Potatoes are rich in carbohydrates and are an instant source of energy.

  • Fruit salad

Mix their favourite fruits and coat them with a bit of honey or caramel. Your kids are going to love it.

You can experiment with oats. Try mixing them with fruit pulps and nuts to give a twist to their basic taste.

Suji or semolina is easily available. You can mix veggies and make a nutritious pancake.

You can add dates and nuts to make it rich and thick.

Made from chickpeas, this is a great snacking option for everyone.
