The capital recorded 4 new omicron cases today, taking the Omicron tally in Delhi to 6. One has been discharged from the hospital and all of them have mild to moderate symptoms as confirmed by the Health Minister Mansukh Mandviya . 35 Covid positive patients and 3 suspected cases have been admitted to LNJP Hospital.
Lok Sabha members have requested the government to seriously consider the plans to roll out a booster dose soon as the number of omicron cases have started to rise. The total tally all over India has crossed 50.
Speaking about the rising number of cases in the capital, Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the capital is prepared to deal with the new strain. They are not planning to impose any new restrictions right now but can do it in future.
The various states in the country are taking measures to ensure that the spread can be contained. Tamil Nadu has extended its restrictions on public and social gatherings till 31st December.
India has reported 5,784 fresh Covid cases on Tuesday.
