Amid Omicron threat, section 144 was extended in Gautam Buddha Nagar of Uttar Pradesh till 31st December. These restrictions have been imposed ahead of the festival season towards the end of the year.
23rd December is the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Ch. Charan Singh and Christmas and New Year celebrations are on 25th December and 31st December respectively. This section has been imposed to maintain the law and order in the state. Several competitive exams like AIIMS , UGC-NET and CBSE exams are also scheduled during these exams.
- It is also compulsory to wear masks and observe social distancing.
- In the closed spaces, only 100 people would be allowed for a marriage function.
- Malls gyms and restaurants would function with 50% capacity.
- Anybody who disobeys would be booked under section 188 of The Indian Penal Code.
