Huge protests in Europe over new Covid restrictions

Europe is witnessing fresh protests amid new Covid restrictions being laid by the governments to contain the widespread Covid infections in the continent.

In Brussels, violence broke out at a protest attended by 35,000 people. The ban was due to restrictions being imposed on the unvaccinated people regarding visiting restaurants, malls and bars etc.

Protests broke out in Netherlands also two days back. The country has entered into three weeks of partial lockdown last Saturday and also planning to ban unvaccinated people from entering public venue. Thousands of people entered a peaceful march in the capital city of Amsterdam on Saturday. The protests had turned violent when the protesters threw stones and fireworks at the police.

Vienna had a similar situation wherein approximately 40,000 people corded the streets on Saturday. Austria has been facing protests over its new Covid policies. The country is planning to go in a nationwide lockdown from today and would make the corona virus vaccine mandatory from February next year. (The only country in Europe to so).Last week Austria had declared a lockdown for its unvaccinated population.

Two Covid test centres in Germany were set on fire on Sunday morning. Unvaccinated people require a negative report from these centres to enter any public venue in Germany

There was looting and arson overnight in Caribbean islands in France to show defiance against night curfews being imposed.

Ireland had several people protesting over the vaccine passports.
