Himachal Pradesh set to open schools from classes 1-7

As the cases continue to decline, the State Government has decided to open the schools from classes 1st -7th in a cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Jai Ram Thakur.

The sources state that schools would reopen from 10th November for classes 3-7 and from 15th November for classes 1st and 2nd. The cabinet also decided that the transport buses would run with full capacity instead of the 50 percent capacity rule made earlier. The state Cabinet also decided to recommend to governor regarding the commencement of the winter session of Vidhan Sabha from 10th -15th December in Dharamshala.

The state had already opened schools from 8th class onwards. This decision was taken in the second week of October. The schools were opened for all the working days. The necessary SOPs have been followed and they plan to implement them for the junior classes as well.

Many states and UTS have started offline schooling for students in the wake of low Covid cases.
