India and Senegal celebrated 60 years of their diplomatic ties by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Health and Medicine in Dakar on Friday.
Minister of state for External affairs Muraleedharan signed this agreement during his first visit to Senegal. During the meet the two sides reviewed their bilateral ties and discussed possibilities of exploring engagement.
Muraleedharan in his tweet said that “The MOU that I signed with Senegal in Dakar on training Senegalese Diplomats reinforces our commitment to build capacity of government officials of Senegal. Welcome Senegalese Diplomats to @SSIFS_MEA.”
In a subsequent tweet he said that “Signed an MOU with Senegal on Health and Medicine in Dakar. The MOU entails collaboration including in Disease Surveillance, Medical Research, Drugs and Pharma, Medical equipment and Traditional Medicine. Comes at a time when the health cooperation needs more attention than ever.”
Muraleedharan also released a commemorative postal stamp with Minister of Telecom Yankhoba Ditara and Senegal FM Aissata Tall Sall in Dakar.
