Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar dies due to heart attack

Superstar Puneet Rajkumar died of heart attack on Friday. He was just 46 years old. This news has sent shock waves across his family, friends and fans. He was the youngest son of Kannada star Dr. Rajkumar.

Puneeth had worked out in the gym on Friday morning for 2 hours when he experienced chest pain. He went to a local clinic where ECG was done and it was confirmed that he had a cardiac arrest. He was then rushed to the hospital where he was in a unresponsive state. The doctors tried to revive him but all in vain. He was declared dead at 2.30p.m. The doctors confirmed that it was major cardiac arrest and advanced resuscitation methods were initiated upon his arrival.

Puneeth had made his debut as a child actor. He had acted in 29 films as the lead actor. He is survived by his wife Ashwini Revnath and two daughters.

Fans and supporters of the actor poured on the streets of Bengaluru and expressed their grief. He was lovingly known as “Appu”.

Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai expressed grief over his death and requested people to maintain their calm.

His final rites would be held at Kantirava studio on Sunday .
