PM launches Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission

PM Narendera Modi launched “India’s largest scheme to scale up health infrastructure”

This mission aims to increase the accessibility to heath in addition to National Health Mission.

He also inaugurated various developmental projects worth 5200 crore for Varanasi.

Before the launch of this mission, PM inaugurated 9 medical colleges form Siddharthanagar.  It aims to provide support to 17888 rural health and wellness centres in high focus states and 11023 urban health and wellness centres across the country. This mission would ensure that critical care services in all the districts with over five lakhs population through “Exclusive Critical Care Hospital Blocks”

The remaining districts would be covered through referral services. There is a plan to set up integrated public health labs across the district. All the public health labs would be connected via Integrated health Information portal. In short there would be complete digitalisation of the health care.

Earlier this month, PM had also launched Health ID cards for all the citizens.
