There have been frequent questions on whether there should be a guideline from the centre over the booster dose of corona virus vaccination. Many health workers who got vaccinated in February and March have reported a decline in the antibodies count.

There is a huge demand from the health workers to start a booster dose. This has been a topic of discussion .Wherein some health experts have ruled out a need for a booster dose right now, some are advocating that the frontline workers should get a third or booster dose of the vaccine. There have not been many studies to support either of the two situations.

Approximately 68 percent of our populations had received their first dose .The centre has said that while the consideration for a booster dose is there , the priority as of now would be to get young adults aged 12-18 years old vaccinated with the Zydus-Cadilla vaccine.

US has approved the booster dose for health workers and other risk groups, this will remain a topic of controversy considering the shortage of vaccine.
