Canada lifts the travel ban from India after 5months

Owing to the second Covid wave in April, Canada had shut all the direct and indirect flights from India. With a consistent decline in Covid cases, the Canadian government has lifted the travel ban.

Transport Canada had tweeted on Saturday “Beginning at 00:01 EDT on September 27, direct flights from India can land in Canada with additional public health measures in place

 

Here is a list of COVID guidelines that one should follow if you are planning to travel to Canada.

  • Travellers must carry a proof of a negative Covid 19 molecular test from the approved Genestrings Laboratory at Delhi Airport. This test should be done 18 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the flight to Canada.
  • Fully vaccinated passengers have to upload their information on the ArriveCAN mobile app.
  • Indians who are travelling to Canada via an indirect route need to obtain a pre departure negative Covid test from a third country before continuing their journey to Canada.

India ‘s High commissioner to Canada Ajay Bisaria called it as a “Decisive step towards normalising air mobility between two nations.

Air India and air Canada are set to run flights from New Delhi to Vancouver from 27th September
